Christensen v. Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co., et al.

A woman who worked at casinos since 1956 filed a class-action lawsuit against the major tobacco manufacturers and tobacco trade associations after she developed chronic bronchitis and respiratory ailments despite never having smoked.  Her complaint alleges that the defendants “have conspired so as to deprive the plaintiff and members of the class of the medical and scientific data reflecting the damages associated with passive smoking.”  See Benjamin, C., “LV Casino Worker Suing Tobacco Companies,” Las Vegas Review-Journal, April 7, 1998, 5B.
