Anderson v. Anoka County Welfare Board

A jury awarded a $4484 verdict in compensatory and punitive damages for the retaliatory termination (without a hearing) of a county social worker who complained to her department head about smoke in the office.  The dismissal violated the employee’s First Amendment (free speech) and Fourteenth Amendment (due process) rights.

No. 79-269, U.S. District Court (D. Minn. 1981).
